Cricket Australia approves tour of Pakistan

Lahore: (Web Desk) Cricket Australia has approved to send its team on a tour of Pakistan. Approval for the tour of Pakistan was given at the Cricket Australia Board meeting.

A statement issued by Cricket Australia said that the Australian cricket team is going to Pakistan. Cricket Australia chief executive Nick Hawkley says he is grateful to the PCB and the governments of the two countries, looking forward to an exciting series between the two world class teams. Nick Hawley said that the Australian team will visit Pakistan for the first time in 24 years, the tour is important for the development and strengthening of the game. “I also thank the Cricketers’ Association, the players, the coaches, the support staff and the security experts for planning the tour,” said Chief Executive Nick Hawley.

On the other hand, a new tour schedule has been released in consultation with Pakistan and Australian Cricket Boards. The Test series will now start from Rawalpindi instead of Karachi. The second Test will be played in Karachi and the last in Lahore. According to the preliminary schedule, the Test series was to start from Karachi on March 3.

The Australian team visiting Pakistan after 24 years will play three ODIs and one T20I in addition to the Test series in the series. The ODIs and T20s will also be played in Rawalpindi.
